Friday Happy Hour - Happy 4th of July!

Hello readers - happy Friday! Who's excited for a 3 day weekend??

We have a wedding this weekend so it's no vacay for us BUT we will be grilling to celebrate Independence Day and want to share some patriotic ways to decorate your own grilling parties.

Red, white, and blue can get really cheesy really quickly. If you're looking for a way to bring in the color palette yet host a stylish party think about breaking up the colors. Do somewhat of a monochromatic look. For example, do a white linen, blue containers, and red flowers. Your table now looks patriotic but still has some chicness. We put together a few small arrangements using glass blue containers and red zinnias. The result is not only perfect for a garden soiree but it also celebrates our country!

And remember that grilling and having a backyard party is usually a casual affair so keep the floral arrangements natural, loose, and fun! Enjoy family, friends, the weather, and celebrating our Independence!

Weekend Recap

Hello and happy Monday everyone! What an insane weekend but at the same time totally amazing.

Our Friday kicked off with one of the most entertaining client meetings ever - a fantastic family with a great sense of humor and a fabulous vision for the big day decor. I'm so excited to get started on their proposal.

Saturday began early - 5:30AM - and we headed off to NYC for the Renegade Craft Fair in McCarren Park Brooklyn, NY. The fair was full of different vendors, to include Jay McCarroll - winner of Project Runway! He looked fab and his booth was one of the most creative ones we saw. Check it out below - how awesome are the robots holding up the clothing rack???:

We found some amazing ceramists so get ready for customized DBI Events pieces. We'll highlight these vendors later on in the week. Here's a pretty vintage booth with interesting glass containers:

Sunday was another fun client meeting - modern, lavish vision - who can argue with that?? Amazing venue, beautiful color palette, and a super sweet couple....swoooooon. Time to get the creative juices flowing.

Stay tuned for what's to come this week - summer has definitely kicked off and we can't contain ourselves!

Pike Park Farmers Market

I'm so happy it's Farmers Market season! Everything is so colorful and full of flavor. Today we checked out the cute little Pike Park Farmers Market. Although it is a pretty small market it has all your basics. We found a great vendor selling a variety of squash and fresh herbs. We picked up some green squash and a bunch of fresh basil. The entire loft now smells like fresh basil! I'm thinking of cooking homemade pesto chicken with sauteed squash and fresh tomato salad for dinner...a California girl at heart :)

With such beautiful ingredients expect to see a lot of Farmers Market inspiration in this summer's DBI designs.
