M+B's House of Sweden Rehearsal Dinner and Arena Stage Wedding Reception

2013 has been such a fun time for all of us here at the Studio. Our clients have been coming in with amazing visions and we've gotten the opportunity to go outside the "standard" wedding decor on numerous occasions. M+B's wedding was one of these. These two celebrated their rehearsal dinner at the House of Sweden and the wedding at Arena Stage. Their rehearsal dinner consisted of  Southwestern inspiration, along with a floral crown for the bride. For the wedding reception, we created 5' tall poppies, that were placed on top of lazy susans (so as the lazy susan spun, the poppies swayed). We brought in real flowers in deep reds, fuchsias, and magentas to pop against the black and white furniture/linen. Check out all the fun below:

Floral Spotlight: Poppies

Last week, poppies were the flora of choice for Wolfgang Puck’s Wedding Showcase at the Sunset Room.  Poppies bloom in the cold weather, so now is the perfect time to use them.  However, there are also annual and perennial poppies that bloom from late spring to mid summer.  These beautiful blooms aren’t very long lasting after the cut, so keep them in a vase, or if they’re in a bouquet, with the stems exposed so they can be in water until the last possible minute!

As seen last week, the stems are just as vibrant as the petals, making it possible to utilize the entire cut from stem to bloom.

Wedding Wednesday: The Sunset Room by Wolfgang Puck

This weekend, we made arrangements for Wolfgang Puck’s Wedding Show.  We were the exclusive wedding designer, for both flowers and planning.  It was so much fun!  The table featured a charcoal linen, brick napkins, glass weaved charger, mirrored votives, live potted plants, bright poppies in tall glass cylinders, succulent favors with flags, place cards, and wrap-around menu cards.  Incorporating a charcoal ribbon is a neutral selection that allows the flowers to shine (and it’s a hot color for 2013)!
