The L'Ermitage Beverly Hills

There’s no doubt that the Viceroy Hotel Group has some incredible properties across the country and even world-wide yet one of my favorites is nestled right in the heart of Beverly Hills with a breathtaking 360 degree rooftop view of the vast Los Angeles layout.

The L’Ermitage Beverly Hills is a boutique, five-star hotel catering to high-end professionals in town for business that only demand the best, to Hollywood’s elite and celebrities alike. This luxury centric urban getaway prides itself on remembering it’s guests while going out of their way to make your stay enjoyable and most importantly, unforgettable.

Along with beautiful rooms and amenities, the L’Ermitage offers various different event spaces, allowing for a vast range of parties spanning from weddings, to corporate events looking for a new spin on a cocktail party, to a classic baby shower to a fabulous launch event for your new emerging brand. Private suites and conference rooms, a ground floor terrace and a gorgeous Pavillion where you look out on a tranquil waterfall wall surrounded by lush greenery and flowers are always being transformed into a special space for some kind of fun event! But where the buck stops for me is the truly versatile rooftop.

Being that I’m an LA girl that lived in Manhattan for many years, a great view always takes the cake for me! Take a glance North and you see the Hollywood Hills covered in chic, upscale modern homes along side the iconic Hollywood Sign, turn around to the South and point out the world-famous Rodeo Drive shopping hub and heart of the entertainment industry’s corporate world. The West view doesn’t fail in beauty while you enjoy the California coastline kissing sparkling ocean water in Santa Monica. And finally East allows for our Downtown skyline to shine as well as show off the Griffith Observatory.

No matter which way you look, the ultimate dream of a perfect view while in the middle of an ever-changing, exciting town like Los Angeles is presented to you on a silver platter at The L’Ermitage Beverly Hills. Currently offered is a tented, open-air main portion of the rooftop that will soon be enclosed in glass come 2015, as well as a smaller Rooftop Terrace with access to a hip pool if that fits the scene of the party. And let’s face it, being that we are in LA it’s usually always bathing suit weather!

LA Tuesdays - 440 Seaton

One thing we know as residents of a city that is littered with movie studios is that we have the ability to play make believe even if we are not physically on one of those lots. Frankly, the more money someone has, the higher the possibilities, as this is the case with most things in life. In a Hollywood blockbuster, the set decorator is crutial in making sure that the storyline is supported by the background and surroundings for the main characters. Same concept, different line of work….

An event planner gives a client options to make their own personal story come to life. And when the canvas is a blank slate, people like myself want to do cartwheels because we know just how creative we can allow ourselves to go.

The 440 Seaton venue is just that! A blank canvas ready to be transformed into whatever your heart desires. This 100 year old, urban warehouse in the middle of the Downtown Los Angeles Art District, has soaring 50 feet ceilings, industrial concrete floors, exposed brick and a one-of-a-kind entry way into this grand space through an old-school wooden elevator. Mainly used thus far for production shoots, the 10,000 square foot space can accommodate up to 1,700 standing guests, as well as 1,400 chair seated and a 600 table seating capacity. Although large, it can always feel as intimate as a 40-person venue if you chose the correct décor.

The personal touches that a designer can go wild with in this venue are vast – everything from creative lighting ideas, to oversized hanging flower wreaths or chandeliers, to endless furniture options. Depending on the color scheme or the brand, 440 Seaton can be transformed into an elegant, all white affair or a darker, romantic space as well. There are even means to bring large items such as cars into the space for display. Its totally up to you!

Meet DBI LA

Back in April, we launched our LA office. Since then, the questions of "so what's going on with LA?" "Who's running LA?" have been non-stop. Some of you voiced concern of DBI fully moving to LA, or that DBI LA wouldn't reflect the original DC model. So to answer questions, put a face to an office, and give you an update, today we're all about DBI LA.

Meet Brittany (or Britt). This firecracker is the head of our LA office and we couldn't be more ecstatic to have her on board. She comes to us with a background in PR and music management, having worked on the production side of movie premiers, red carpets, and launch parties. Her last gig was at Lions Gate and while their PR team is sorry for the loss, we are celebrating the gain!

Brittany's personal style is hip, chic, elegant, and a little rock n' roll (clearly, the perfect fit to DBI). As a native LA-er, she knows the area inside out and has her finger on the pulse of what is happening in the LA market.

If you're in SoCal and looking for a talented event design, definitely hit up Brittany:
