Whittemore House Wedding - Part 1

This year has been amazing in terms of clients and their vision. We have gotten opportunities to execute on designs we've been filing under "dream pieces", using ingredients rarely seen in floral design. Emily+Paul were those dream clients that not only were a perfect match stylistically but also trusted our taste. The final results are luscious creations, so seasonally appropriate for a September wedding, incorporating majority locally sourced supplies.

In Part 1 we're sharing personal flowers and ceremony decor, which focused primarily on whites and greens (as you'll see - the reception is a totally different color palette). Loved working with The Plannery and Leo Druker Photography!

(how gorgeous is the bride?!)

(instead of altar arrangements we decided to suspend a garland...which was later reused on the mantel)

Spooky Halloween weddings...Part 2

As we continue the countdown to Halloween we’re looking more at Halloween-themed weddings and why they’re pretty great. Today’s pro-Halloween theme argument?  You can dress however you want and no one can say anything.  This goes for you and the guests. Ever thought of dressing as Romeo and Juliet or Dracula and his lady as you stand at the altar? Or how about an stunning black or crisp white gown with black or red sash? Polish your look with exquisite satin shoes and a bouquet of black calla lilies and you’ve succeeded at celebrating Halloween in style. Let’s not forget the groom – hook him up with some theme-appropriate cufflinks, such as these skulls found at CuffLinks.com

Real Merriweather Manor Wedding

Today I'm excited to share G&J's romantic fall wedding! The lovely couple married this past Labor Day weekend at Merriweather Manor in Leesburg, VA. The bride embraced the fall color palette and the natural surroundings of the venue. The piece that set the mood for the rest of the event was the chuppah. We covered it in luscious greens and seasonal florals (dahlias, celosia, etc). Suspended mason jars filled with vibrant florals lined the white aisle chiavari chairs. We used urns, glass vintage bottles and jars, and cloches on dinner tables to create a "naturally" romantic atmosphere. We also filled all the empty urns on the property with florals matching the centerpieces! (Official photos to come soon)

Make sure to check back in later this week to see where one of our styled shoots is getting featured!
