Wedding Wednesday - Theme of the Day

This past weekend I had the extreme pleasure of attending a Victorian themed wedding.  I wasn't really sure what to think when I received the invitation requesting that guests arrive in "Victorian Attire", but to my pleasant surprise it was really really neat!  The couple wore Victorian attire, of course, and it was great to see the majority of wedding guest came dressed to the nines in Victorian era garb, too.  I can't
wait to see the ceremony photos! Of course the theme was carried on throughout the day, including a horse drawn carriage for the couple and a Top Hat shaped wedding cake.  The theme was perfect for the season, and the whole day was romantic and fabulous.  Congrats K&J!

The day got me thinking about wedding themes in general.  What a perfect way for a non-traditional couple to put a fun twist on their wedding day.  It makes the day personal for the couple and can be so fun for the guests.  A theme gets your guests involved in the day, and they will be talking about your wedding for months to come, guaranteed!  Don't let a quirky theme scare you, if it's an idea you truly love.  It's an excellent way for your big day to reflect your personalities and truly make it your day.  Sticking with an out the norm theme may require specialized details that could add to the cost.  So, keep your budget in mind.

We've seen some lovely themed weddings this year at Studio DBI.  Who can forget Kerry and Tre's fab "PanAm" Wedding (photos by Stephen Gosling Photography) . . . . . . .
