Wedding Wednesday: 1920s Inspired Wedding Fashion

Midnight In Paris

I saw the fabulous film Midnight in Paris recently (highly recommend!) and loved the gorgeous details seen in Marion Cotillard's wardrobe. Her character got me thinking about 1920s inspired wedding details. And the easiest way by far to incorporate the 1920s look into a wedding is through fashion.

Last May, a friend of mine wore this gorgeous flapper dress for her vintage garden wedding. Reproductions of vintage styles can give you the flapper look without the vintage price. She paid only $200 for this dress and modernized it a bit with her accessories.

Another easy way to create the flapper look is with hair accessories. Opting for a headband instead of a veil is great for more casual weddings.

Look for jewelry with Art Deco details.

And if you're really committed to the 1920s look, consider a vintage-inspired hairstyle for the big day, like finger waves.
