A Wedding as Sweet as a Hawaiian Pineapple

One of my most favorite things to post on this blog is real weddings. And today's wedding is one of the sweetest weddings I've ever seen and it comes to all of you from St. Petersburg, Russia. This wedding truly highlights the couple and their love.

Sonia and Gintaras brought Hawaii to Russia. Their ceremony took place at the Sestroretsk civilian registry's office (a standard Russian tradition - if you want to sign that certificate and make it official that is :) ). Friends and family took a bus to the reception site, a cafe called Pivnaya Pristan in Zelenogorsk (a burb of St. Petersburg, where I have actually spent numerous times by the camp fire eating shashliks!). Guests were greeted with leis, Hawaiian rum and pineapple!

The rest of the evening was spent drinking tropical drinks such as mojitos, cuba libre, and blue hawaii. And of course it wouldn't be a Russian wedding without your standards like vodka and champagne. The food was your home style cooking of shashliks (aka a Russian kebab) of three varieties (chicken, pork, and beef), salads, fruits, veggies, pickled goodies (olives!) and of course an assortment of candies.

Enjoy the photos! We sure did :)
How fabulous are the flowers?

The arriving couple dressed appropriately for a Hawaiian wedding :)

The adorable 8 year old caught the bouquet - guess he's next in line!

How cute was this wedding?! So personal and all about the couple - we can't get enough! We wish Sonia and Gintaras a life full of love, happiness, and joy! Congrats!
