Gift Wrapping Revamped

We're back - and this time I promise that the blog will be regularly updated. Traveling around the world left no time to post but now the blog is back and with so many great photos, ideas, and general thoughts.

In the next few weeks expect to see A Real Wedding - St. Petersburg Russia, tips for the holiday season (to include decor, hosting, and attending), wedding traditions from around the world, and some fun photos from the trip.

Today we thought we'd tackle GIFT WRAPPING. With holiday season quickly approaching I thought I'd with you some fabulous gift wrapping ideas and tips. Gift wrapping can be as special and unique as the actual gift. If you'd like to get creative or simply make your gift stand out under that Xmas tree check out these few fun tips:

When selecting gift wrapping paper forget the standard holiday prints - go for something bold! Texture, prints, and luscious colors (think aqua, coral) can go a long way:

When considering ribbon look into different materials - gauzy trim, silk ribbon, artist's tape, glossy vinyl, leather, rope, or mesh. You can overlap different sizes, colors, and textures for even more pop:

Add a monogram! You don't need ribbon for this - just use wrapping paper and some letters:

Use alternative materials like a string of pearls, a jump rope, and even rubber bands to replace ribbon:

Still need additional sprucing? How about replacing that plastic bow with a fresh flower, feathers, shells, bow tie pasta, or even a tassel?

Don't be scared to mix and match all of this! Get as crafty (and crazy) as you want - and remember that this is all about personalizing the wrap.

Too lazy for gift wrapping? Pick a unique box such as a simple cake box from the bakery, a tin can, or muslin baggy.
