Labor Day DIY Decor

Today I have a fun and inexpensive DIY decor idea for those of you hosting a labor day party - red, white and blue paper flowers!

This project is super simple and all materials can be purchased at the Dollar Tree ($3 and you have party decor!). You'll need:
  • construction paper (remember from 3rd grade?)
  • buttons/pins
To make these flowers is very simple:
  1. with your hands (no scissors - as we are trying to get natural edges) "cut out" 4 different size circles from any combination of red, white, and blue paper
  2. crumble them up
3. uncrumble and assemble, securing all layers together with a pin or button (or glue if you choose)

And that's it! The end result is this fun flower that can be used in many different ways.

Tips:
  • Do an all white-decor and use these flowers as accents on napkins
  • Buy ribbon while you're at the Dollar Tree and pin them onto ribbons to hang (or to tie around a napkin or hang from chairs)
  • Make them in other colors and create fun wall art
Enjoy the three day weekend! Happy Labor Day!
