Since yesterday we discussed a DIY wall art project we're going to stick with the same theme today - unique design ideas for your wall.
As we mentioned yesterday hanging plates on your walls can create an amazing affect. Anyone who's been to my home knows my wall of "art". It is a wall filled with framed paintings, wood carvings, and photos all of different sizes, colors, tones, and styles. This wall is the inspiration behind today's idea of decorating with plates.

The plates can be of different sizes, colors, and themes. OR you can stick with one color tone and create a statement piece. Whichever option you choose have fun with it! Stop by your local thrift store and pick out an assortment of plates - with most plates costing around $0.50 you can't beat the price! And if you're looking for a specific print check out what's on sale at Crate&Barrel, CB2, Macy's, etc.

And if you're a bride - take note. Instead of the usual guestbook how about having your guests sign plates? Every wedding tries to have something unique and this is a very inexpensive detail that your guests will remember. The great part of this is you will have a truly unique piece of art in your new home with your new life partner and you'll actually get use out of this "guestbook". Two birds One stone.
